Honestly, a sweater dress usually has me running for the hills. My belief until now, was that unless you are stick thin, they just aren’t flattering. The goal of a sweater (before fashion of course) was to add warmth which in turn creates weight and bulk, something most ladies like to avoid. So the idea of wearing a whole dress of sweater was something that made me cringe. That certainly doesn’t mean I haven’t made multiple attempts to love such garments, but they always fell short. When I stumbled upon this bell sleeve beauty from Tobi was a most welcome surprise and I knew it was worth the risk!
With fabulous bell sleeves and the perfect height mock neck the only thing I wasn’t sure about was the length. I tend to gravitate towards above the knee or midi length, but I immediately thought of pairing it with these exact boots so I knew my modest inner voice wouldn’t be too upset.
The biggest reason this sweater dress works for me is the fabric. It isn’t bulky or chunky, but thick enough to hide imperfections and hang off the body properly. Having a thinner sweater material, it creates less volume than the million others I’ve tried, resulting in a sweater dress I am proud to own!
I love the combination of my black over the knee boots with this dress. The length of the dress paired with the fall of the boots is a universally flattering style that I am so excited to have discovered. Topped with my closet staple grey coat and hat, I am already to planning to wear this exact outfit again!
